Hypnotherapy

Thanks to mainstream media, there are many myths and misconceptions surrounding hypnotherapy. It is often thought, for example, that a person can be controlled and made to do things against their will when under hypnosis, or that they won’t remember anything once they’ve been brought out of a trance.

On the contrary, a person has a heightened sense of awareness in a hypnotherapy session.

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy used to break habits, ease insomnia, and treat stress-related issues. It enables the alteration of a pattern of behavior on a subconscious level. Since humans can be very responsive to the power of suggestion when in a deep state of relaxation, a hypnotherapist relaxes a person’s consciousness to approach their subconscious mind. The hypnotherapist does this by using relaxation techniques, and then attempts to target and change the person’s unhealthy thoughts, feelings, or behavior.

Hypnotherapy can be used to treat obsessive compulsive disorder, relieve and control pain, overcome grief, phobias, anxiety, and insomnia, lose weight, improve concentration, build confidence, reduce stress, stop smoking and unhealthy eating habits, or simply to relax.
