Steel Complex Limited is now a Joint Venture Company with equal share holding between Govt. of Kerala and SAIL, a Maharatna PSU. SAIL is the largest manufacturer of steel in India and at present owns and operates 5 integrated steel plants at Bhilai, Bokaro, Rourkela, Durgapur and Burnpur. The Joint Venture agreement was signed on 10/12/2008 to explore the opportunities to harness their potential on a mutually beneficial terms. As part of the Joint Venture agreement, it is intended to install a 65000 tpa Rolling Mill at SCL premises for manufacture of TMT.
